London - Day 2
Today I woke up 9am this morning and bought electrical outlet converter for 8.99 at a nearby store. Now my laptop has power. I converted and uploaded my "London Day - 1" pictures on facebook.
I'm moving hotels today. I'm going from the Trafalgar Hotel to Imperial Hotel at Russell Square to meet up with my Contiki tour group. Over, I'll be meeting my with my roommate for the tour and the entire group will have our first dinner together at the hotel at 6pm. Before then, I'm planning to Underground to the Nature History Museum, Science museum and then walk through Hyde Park to Buckingham Palace.
If I can get internet connection again, I'll update this a bit more later on.
Alright, things did not plan to go as well as I expected...
According to the tour, the room of which they booked for me should be ready by 2pm and that I should be able to leave my luggage in my new room. I took the underground and got there around 1:30pm. Being 30 mins early, I thought I might as well get something to eat nearby to kill the time. I went to a small restaurant named after "James Cagney" whom was apparently a huge Hollywood star in films which were still in black and white. I still haven't tried out a authentic English dish yet. I thought why the heck not today.
I've order fried cod and fish. It was not good compare to the previous battered fish and chips meal I've had in the past in Toronto. I think the dish left a bit of a fish taste in my mouth after finsihing the meal and that made me felt a bit queezy. I paid the billed and head to the my hotel room. The time now is 2:30pm.
As soon as I got into my room, I went immediately to the washroom. (you can guess why) After coming out of the washroom, I took some time to try to admire my room for a bit. (Deep emphansis on the word 'try'...) It was smaller than the room I've stay at in the previous hotel. The window was open and that worried me seeing how I though someone else in the room. I've turned on the TV and quickly flip through the channels to see what was on. I ended watching a movie till 4pm. But the time I've realized it was 4pm, I headed out to Natural History Museum in hopes to see whatever I can before meeting up with the tour group.
As soon as I got to the Natural History Museum, I've also manage to get about an 1 hour in visiting several rooms. I saw a bunch of crystals, rocks and fossils. I didn't get into many exhibits. It's 5:30pm now and I head back to my hotel.
When I arrive back to the hotel, went to the lobby where everyone was filling out a form. The was to confirm that we had arrived. After the filling out the form, we tried to introduce ourselves to many people as much as possible. After talking to a couple of people for a while, it turns out that most of the travelers came from Canada, U.S., Australia an one from Brazil. Most people are students, around age 20-22 as it seems.
After the quick meet and greet, we all had dinner in the hotel restaurant. Dinner wasn't that great in my opinion. Just some soup, a few slices of meat, potatoes gravy and brussel sprouts. After dinner, we were to meet in the lobby where our tour leader would take us on a city walk night tour of the downtown area.
Walking around London at night is quite an experience. We've walked from Russell Square to Leicester Square, Pecadilly Circus and final to Trafalgar Square. I remembered walking around these places during the day and everywhere is very busy with all of the people cars, shops, sounds and sights. Walk at night, it's still busy with all of the people cars, shops, sounds and sights. Like stories I hear about Vegas, everything seems to be open 24/7 and it never seems to end!
After walking to Trafalgar Square, we head back to our hotel. I'm in the lobby, uploading picture and finishing up this blog. Tomorrow morning, we wake up 7:30am for complimentary breakfast and then leave to head to Stone Henge at 8:15

London - Day 1
I'll keep this short since my laptop battery is dying and I don't have a electrical outlet plug converter. Damn Europeans!!! *shakes fist* I'll be getting one tomorrow hopefully...
It's been a long time since I've went to the Pearson Air Canada Airport in Toronto. I haven't flown for 15 years. Getting back on the airplane was a refreshing experience.
Airplane had changed so much since I've last been on one. The last time I've been on a airplane, I remember that there was only one movie shown on during the flight and the big screen was shared by everyone in the middle of the plane. Now, everyone has a choice to brows through a selection of movies, TV shows and maps on a touch screen found on the back of seats in front of where we sat.
My flight was about 6-7 hours. I've watched two and a quarter movies on the plane. 007: Quantum Solace, Funny People and Harry Potter: Half Blood Prince. I've choose these movies seeing how I've missed during the summer when no one wanted to go see them with me..
007: Quantum Solace - This movie itself was awesome!! But it became even more awesome when I was watching scene of the airplane chase, car chase and boat chase AND feeling the actual air turbulence during my flight! It was an interactive movie experience awesomeness in itself.
Funny People - I have never seen an Adam Sandler movie where he plays a serious character. He does it well in this movie. The movie itself is very funny and also surprising dramatic as well seeing how a lot people makes mistakes in their lives and often finds themselves not happy with their lives. Even funny people such as comedian goes through this. I really recommend this movie for anyone who hasn't watched it yet.
Harry Potter: Half Blood Prince - Sucked. Watch first 20 mins of it and then turned it off...
Upon arrival to London (8am), it was very foggy. In London, to take the Underground (subway), You need to purchase this card called "Oyster" and add money on top of it. Compare to Toronto, subway system is a bit complex, but is really nice to be able to easily travel any where in the city.
At 9am, I got to my hotel. My booked room wasn't really until 3pm due to cleaning and all.
So I have more than 6 hours to kill...
Closes to my hotel, I went to the National Arts Museum which was pretty cool. They had a lot of arts works going from 1500's - 1900's. A lot of the art displays were massive and very well done by the artist. Some art works were the size of HD advertisement posters! Imaging that, having a HD artwork in a big room of your house or palace in the 1500's. The people who use to own these paintings back then must had lived a luxurious life.
I also did a lot of walking around the downtown core of London. The traffic is INSANE there. There are so many traffic light for cars and pedestrians, that is easily for anyone to get into accidents. Plus street signs were sometimes found on buildings rather than street poles.
I've walk around Soho, Chinatown and along the St James Park. Oddly, I've randomly wondered into the 'exotic' area of London which had A LOT of sex shops, adult video shops, strip bars and gay and lesbian restaurants. I've also walked along their 'theatre' district where they had a lot of cinemas and broadway shows.
I've found London's biggest arcade! I was called "Funland"!
It was awesome how they had so many music arcade games there such as DDR 3th mix, Euromix, Euromix 2, Supernova, DDRX, ITG (upgrade cab. Open ITG), PIU:NX, PIU:PRO, Parapara, GF:DM, Guitar Hero and etc. The unfortunate part was that, most of the machine had crappy pads!!!
A lot of sensor were dead and you stomp very hard for the arrows to register. For example, Dr Doolittle, Max300 with 40 pad misses EACH.) They also had DJ MAX: Technika there which was very fun!! For those who haven't played it before, it's very good looking a touch screen music game with smooth background videos and awesome music from DJ MAX series.
Last, I've walked by Big Ben, House of Parliament and seen London Eye from across the Thames river. Right now I'm back in my hotel typing out this blog entry. Damn this wasn't short and I have 10 mins left on my laptop battery...
PEACE OUT!
-Ken

The Five Toughest Questions For Men
1. What are you thinking about?
2. Do you love me?
3. Do I look fat?
4. Do you think she is prettier than me?
5. What would you do if I died?
Here is the problem: If the man answers incorrectly (i.e., tells the truth), every single one is absolutely guaranteed to explode into a major argument.
As a public service, I analyze each question and provide the possible answers.
#1: What are you thinking about?
The best answer to this is:
"I'm sorry if I've been pensive, dear. I was just reflecting on what a warm, wonderful, thoughtful, caring, intelligent woman you are, and how lucky I am to have met you."
This response obviously bears no resemblance to the true answer, which is, most likely, one of the following:
a. Baseball.
b. Football.
c. How fat you are.
d. How much prettier she is than you.
e. How I would spend the insurance money if you died.
(Perhaps the best classic response to this question was offered by Al Bundy, who once told Peg: "If I wanted you to know what I was thinking, I would be talking to you!")
#2: Do you love me?
The proper response is: "YES!"
If you feel a more detailed answer is in order:
"Yes, dear."Inappropriate responses include:
a. Yah, sure, you betcha.
b. Would it make you feel better if I said "yes"?
c. That depends on exactly what you mean by love.
d. Does it matter?
e. Who, me?
#3: Do I look fat?
The correct answer is an emphatic:
"Of course not!"Among the incorrect answers are:
a. Compared to what?
b. I wouldn't call you fat, but you're not exactly thin.
c. A little extra weight looks good on you.
d. I've seen fatter.
e. Could you repeat the question? I was just thinking about how I would spend the insurance money if you died.
#4: Do you think she's prettier than me?
Once again, the proper response is an emphatic:
"Of course not!"Incorrect responses include:
a. Yes, but you have a better personality.
b. Not prettier, but definitely thinner.
c. Not as pretty as you, when you were her age.
d. It depends on how you define pretty.
e. Could you repeat the question? I was just thinking about how I would spend the insurance money if you died.
#5: What would you do if I died?
This is the all-time, no-win question.
(The real answer, of course, is "Buy a Corvette.")
There is no good answer.
No matter how you answer, be prepared for at least an hour of follow-up questions, usually along the these lines:
Woman: Would you get married again?
Man: Definitely not!
Woman: Why not? Don't you like being married?
Man: Of course I do.
Woman: Then why wouldn't you remarry?
Man: Okay, I'd get married again.
Woman: You would? (with a hurtful look on her face)
Man: Yes, I would.
Woman: (After a long pause) Would you sleep with her in our bed?
Man: Where else would we sleep?
Woman: Would you put away my pictures, and replace them with pictures of her?
Man: That would seem like the proper thing to do.
Woman: And would you let her use my golf clubs?
Man: She can't use them; she's left-handed.

The problem here is, I always tell the truth...
